My new definition of "awkward"

Hanging out with my boyfriend's father, waiting for the boyfriend to come home from work, and deciding to watch the first episode of the HBO show TrueBlood.

Not realizing that a portion of the show qualifies as softcore porn.

Oh my.

Oh, wow . . .

Similar awkwardness.

Took the sons to see Shakespeare in Love when it was first released. They were in their early teens, and the love scenes, though not graphic, were a bit much to see with them.

I read the Clan of the Cave Bear books before my mom did when they first came out. She was so squicked out, not by the graphic sex, but by the fact that her 14 year old had read the same thing.

OK, so question: would the presence of the boyfriend have made the situation more or less awkward? Discuss.

Less. There would have been more people to share the awkwardness with, thus lessening it per person.

So, was it pretty hot? ;)

Hot, but quickly turning to violent and scary. Think soft-core snuff. Which is not particularly hot in my book.
